Peter is no stranger to the ins and outs of this special region. He has had a passion for fly fishing, outdoors and Montana for as long as he can remember. He first visited Montana in 1989 on a fishing trip with his family, and vowed that he would not just vacation, but live in Montana one day. True to his word, the day after high school graduation in Atlanta, Ga.,
his car was packed and Montana was his destination. His main goal of going to college, working, and most importantly - fly fishing on the famous blue ribbon trout streams - was a reality.
He spent a year living on a ranch nestled along the banks of the Boulder River where he did ranch work during the days fished on the Boulder River every night. Since graduating from the University of Montana in 1999 Peter has been a full time guide and outfitter - spending over three quarters of the year on the waters or in the mountains.
For the last ten years he has also been a big game guide and outfitter in Southwestern Montana. To fill his warm weather and salt water urges, Peter spends his time traveling the world in the “off season” in search of more fish, mountains, and other cultures. Some of his favorite destinations are Argentina, Alaska, various places on the East Coast, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas.
On the Rise Outfitters is based out of Livingston, Montana where Peter lives with his wife and their daughter Matine who was born in May of 2009. They live with an assortment of dogs, fish and horses which keep them all busy when they are not on the road traveling or on the river.
